Toy breed Dogs

Although a bit more challenging it is not impossible to teach a toy dog to engage in play with its owner. But you will need to make the game fun. This can be done with something as simple as a sheet of paper or something more naturally exciting like a soft stuffed toy. If your toy breed is a Yorkshire Terrier or Toy Fox Terrier you will likely have an easier time engaging your dog in play due to their terrier heritage. If your dog likes to sit in your lap you can use a small stuffed toy to teach it to retrieve and then give it permission to be in your lap.
